Reminder for John McCain and George W Bush

June 29, 2008 · Posted in Bush Administration, Domestic Policy

This scene, taken tonight just past sunset, is why there must be absolutely NO offshore drilling. Just a reminder for the two would-be coastal rapists. Those birds are California Brown Pelicans, previously endangered, now thriving. They were endangered by the arrogance of man. We can’t afford to do that again. Note the absence of oil in this water. Just off frame to the right there is a pair of young sea lions playing in the waves. Would they play if oil was leaking onto the shore?

It’s Sunday, and all God-loving politicians like George W. Bush and John McCain should hear this message: No drilling for oil off these shores.

Agree. It's time for people to begin seeing that these oil guys will drill over our heads to get oil to make money, if we had oil in our heads. Just this morning I read news of another record quarter mega record profit for Exxon. What a coincidence that we have an oil boy as "president". How terribly funny this coincidence is! :o

I wonder what will happen if people don't wise up and DEMAND alternative sources of fuel, NOW. They will be no nature, and as a consequence, no "us". Life will be downright miserable, boring, and utterly sad, not worth living. We are not machines, but these guys have no sense of that, and many of us seem to be losing that sense too. This is what happens when the basic needs of us are hard to meet, we turn against nature. This is why miserable people in Brazil cut down the rain forest to raise cattle to make burgers for McDonalds. Now we in developed countries can begin to "feel" the consequences of what poverty does, and other people around the world live with constantly.

Birth control, education, less hypocrisy/religion and decent jobs - power back to humans, not corporations - should lead to some more dignity on this sad planet.
