Forward Momentum
It looks as though the Great Obama Bus Tour of 2008 is paying off nicely. According to this poll (PDF) the double-digit divide has been closed and crossed, with Obama leading by 2 percentage points — a dead heat.
North Carolina polls show him ahead by double digits, too.
There’s been progress with delegates, too — The final Texas results from Saturday’s convention give him the win and a 5-delegate pickup, and the final certification in Mississippi yielded another pledged delegate, widening the gap between Obama and Clinton to 169 pledged delegates.
On yesterday’s NewsGang Live, we talked about the Credentials Committee, and the possibility that there would be a strong Clinton challenge to seat Florida and MIchigan delegates according to the January “elections” in those states. As I read the rules, this challenge could be real. Here’s a Politico analysis that summarizes it well, but in this particular case, the devil is definitely in the details.
Things have been a bit quiet here as I try to catch up on taxes, work, borked WordPress installations, and Twitter. More shortly.
