I'm sure the oil companies do spend a lot on R&D and I'm sure their
high-paid well connected CPA's have lot's of fun defining that and spinning
that. Good old free enterprise-free to those enterprising enough to be
bankrolling politicians.

I saw that show too, and thought it was some of the most obscene spinning I'd ever seen. Appallingan even.

The oil companies are the best at “spinning.” Must be there proximity to slick substances,. I saw a CEO from one of the majors on Larry King recently. He kept on emphasizing that while it sounds like a lot of money they're making, their exploration and R&D costs are really high…
