Are these "criticisms" of Michelle Obama just payback for how some might feel about the treatment Condi Rice has received in the past? Political orientation aside, she is a strong, successful, articulate black woman who has achieved unprecedented power in American history and has had to endure red painted hands, Congressional grilling where her lack of children was brought into question, and various other insults in the name of politics. Did M. Albright suffer at the oppositions' hands like that? Is Rice's color a factor also?

Perhaps Barack's better half is right, that the political conversations today are mean spirited: I was impressed and inspired at how the Obama campaign tried to rise above petty tactics in the primaries and I tend to think that they should continue to just let the other side pop off and make themselves look like idiots. Barack seemed to have a faith in the American public and gave us more credit then some political strategists; we are much smarter than to fall for cheap smears, and a web page to counter such seems a bit like stooping to that level or giving them credence.

I generally stay out of blogging politics, because, let's face, it, so many say it so much more eloquently than I could. But when racism and sexism is so blatant, how does one stay silent? To say nothing, isn't that like tacit acceptance?
http://casadecruz.blogspot.com/2008/06/oh-no-th...

Yes, her defending herself and FOX is disappointing. She says things were wrong, but then goes about explaining how they were right. Disappointing.
