Puerto Rico Complies With Clinton Mandate
Hearing the cry that Clinton doesn’t do as well in caucuses as she does in primaries, Puerto Rico has changed their caucus to a primary and moved up the date to June 1st. Puerto Rico is heavily favored for Hillary Clinton, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that they moved in lockstep with the call.
Just remember I told you so when I quoted this:
She merely has to puncture the balloon of Democratic idealism; sully the character of a good man; feed racial tensions within her party; then eke out a win with the support of unelected superdelegates, thwarting the hopes of millions of new voters who would see an inspiring young man defeated by backroom arm-twisting and arcane party rules.
This follows on a threatened lawsuit by Clinton if Michigan should choose to caucus instead of hold a primary and the hue and cry for Florida to revote, led by Republican governor Charlie Crist.
Let’s stop and think about that for a second. A Republican Governor who is on the short list for the GOP VP slot, assists in the push for the earlier primary date by packaging a bill with the primary to deal with the unique Florida ballot situation. That causes the DNC to disqualify the Florida delegates. Now Crist wants a re-vote AFTER the GOP candidate has been determined, and that’s because WHY? Seriously, WHY?
Keep in mind the quote up above, because you are seeing it in action. I have no objection to a revote in Florida or Michigan at all, nor do I care if Puerto Rico moves up its primary. I do, however, care deeply that Hillary Clinton is campaigning as though she were a Republican and I care even more deeply that her rhetoric is handing next November’s sound bites to the Republicans. As was said above, she is not above destroying the entire party to gain what she views as her own.
Keep an eye on what’s going on in Canada, too. Although Bulldog Wolfson insists with a straight face that they have plausible deniability (at least the Clintons got that one right this time), there is evidence that the walls are cracking.
There will, most definitely, be blood.

Very well written. It’s interesting to see how Hillary tries to force the primaries her way. I guess this is proof that she IS more experienced in politics and slick maneuvering. It also makes me trust Obama more, or should I say, makes me not trust him less.

Did you see this decisive Puerto Rico scenario coming around the corner ?

(U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT article about PR PRIMARY on June 1, 2008 at the U.S. Colony of Puerto Rico in the Caribbean Sea)
Will Puerto Rico really be able to decide everything as suggested by U.S. News and World Report’s Michael Barone ?
Are the 55 delegates going to be chosen on an all-or-nothing basis thus making Puerto Rians the biggest swing voter population in the United States ?
Michael Barone of U.S. News & World Report aparently suggest these are all strong possibilities, right?
