Saddam Hussein is Dead: Be Careful What You Wish For

December 31, 2006 · Posted in Bush Administration, Election 2008

This 14-second video is the sole reason George Bush invaded Iraq. Saddam is now dead. Nothing is changed; nothing is different, except this:

  1. Iraq is on the brink of the bloodiest Civil War we will see in modern times
  2. As of this writing, 2,998 Americans are dead, 22,000 wounded.
  3. Bush and his cabal have wasted more than 350 Billion dollars on this folly, with no end in sight and pleas for still more money, more young people to die, more wounded to come home.

Amidst the rejoicing over the Saddam hanging, consider this: In other countries, Bush is seen as much more evil than Saddam ever was. Can you imagine a day where he and his buddy Rumsfeld are brought before a tribunal and tried for crimes against humanity? If he were convicted, would you feel as sure about the rejoicing over Saddam?

I’m no fan of Bush — I think he’s evil, but I don’t want my country’s leader to be tried for crimes against humanity. He just might be guilty, and what a humiliation that would be for all of us as citizens of the United States. Bush should be impeached and the troops brought home before he inflicts even more harm and hurt on his country and the brave soldiers who have been ordered to their deaths so far from home.

Godspeed to the troops and to the people of Iraq who are committed to restoring peace and some semblance of order to their country. I’m hoping 2007 brings substantive change and an end to our incredibly ill-advised involvement in Iraq.

'In other countries, Bush is seen as much more evil than Saddam ever was.'

I know many do think like this, here in Europe but I think it is grossly wrong of them.
The build up to the war in Iraq was not put to the people properly, then the aftermath of the successful invasion was not planned in advance. Hence the mess now.
Good intentions, a noble cause but badly done, very badly done indeed. If Iraq had turned to democracy as we all hoped, it would have been a benefit to all, except tyrants and religious fundamentalists.

You are obsolutely correct. But Americans suffered a mere casuality for a blunder which Bush commited.Iraqis suffered like hell because of this invasion.
Bush who started the war saying Iraq ' has weapons of mass destruction' , cunningly turned up into a freedom fighter for Iraqis. How can it be called a freedom fight when no Iraqi ever asked Bush to attack Iraq for them Nor Bush asked Iraqis if they wanted him to attack Iraq.If he went for a war for iraqis, why did he cause so many deaths with his negligent and careless warfare.
The number of Iraqis who died under those 50 - 100 ton bomb shells are innumerable. This is the CNN body count http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/10/11/iraq.... .

The real number is ofcourse more and will keep increasing as the war will never end with this.this will only lead to more deaths.Try to search at google by avoiding CNN and BBC reports.you will know that the number is far more than CNN tells us.

All this for what?So that Bush can go to his father and say 'Dad we did it.I killed the guy who tried to kill you'

Fortunately Bush cant take the house for third time. But there is a danger of him leading america to a juncture where there wont be any turning back.God save this world.
